Adios

Due to unforeseen circumstances, I will not be completing April’s challenges…NaPoWriMo, and A to Z.  Not sure when, or if I’ll be returning…

Thank you for your kindnesses—I wish you all well.

Xenium–Gift (A to Z Challenge, Letter X)

Webster’s Dictionary:  Xenium(noun)
a present given to a guest or stranger, or to a foreign ambassador
Origin: [L., from Gr. xe`nion gift to a guest, fr. xe`nos guest.]

Almighty God, Creator

Heavenly Father, the Lord

Is a generous giver…He

Loves, lives to give gifts

Whether to His children or

To strangers, those who

Don’t trust, believe, accept

Believe in His goodness…

Due, perhaps, to abuses by

Family, churches.  Maybe their

Roots are in different cultures

Religious teachings.  Possibly

Dire events, circumstances

Have disappointed, embittered

Tender, fragile hearts.

But God’s heart and hands remain

Always open…He’s the Lord of

Much More, abundant blessings.

Whatever we’re lacking, we can

Ask of Him; what we need, He’ll

Provide…gifts aplenty, from His

Love:  JESUS, Joy, Peace, Hope

Freedom, Grace, Mercy, Living

Water, Bread of Life; Resurrection

Power to heal, restore, rebuild

Reconcile; Forgiveness, Salvation’s

Eternal Life…LOVE unconditional

Unfailing, Everlasting…Light for all the World.

Yearning (NaPoWriMo)

Prompt: write a poem that uses repetition…repeat a word, or phrase…even repeat an image, perhaps slightly changing or enlarging it from stanza to stanza, to alter its meaning.

Yearning for time to open pages

Disappear inside bound papered

Walls, fort of words, escape…book.

Longing for printed lines that renew

Refresh mood, mental getaway.

Yearning burns for story which

Embraces me, a boon companion…

For ink-profiled characters more

Authentic, 3-dimensional, than

Most real people invested in.

Urgency in longing, yearning…

Time lifts broad tapestried wings

Of blinding hue.  Luxury journey

Literary—hands turning dim pages

Shakily—soon will pass from view.

Snake Pit (Sundays 6-Sentence Story)

https://ragtagcommunity.wordpress.com/2019/04/21/rdp-sunday-snake/

https://girlieontheedge1.wordpress.com/2019/04/24/its-six-sentence-story-thursday-link-up-52/

Prompt:  MEMORY

Memory’s mostly snake pit.

Tormenting vipers of Yesterday…stealthy, fast, fangs pierce nightmares, daytime peace.

Toxic venom swirls through veins, infects Tomorrow’s hopes.

Why, I wonder, does memory save worst of moments, days?

Surely there were events, times, people of blessing, beneficent…

Somehow they get deleted:  mind’s hard drive refurbished, still faulty.

Blogging Bus (#100WW)

100 Word Wednesday: Week 118

I wonder some days about

This blogging bus…riders

Still dressed in “them” and “us”

Folks from vast globe, Universe.

Are we really welcoming

Community…or is there an

Undercurrent discordant, not

As inclusive as we boast

Frequently.  Do we Follow

Then ignore posts, lacking

Time and energy…or because

We disagree with philosophy

Ideology, spirituality, or use

Of language unappealing?

Comment box can be feast or

Famine; subtle curse, or blessing

Often mixed…confusing.  Do

We “Like” to just get by, or

Like sincerely?

No judgment intended…just

Pondering, offering piece.

Here’s my bus stop…to

All, Authentic Peace ♥ 🙂

Worship (A to Z Challenge, Letter W)

God’s Word made flesh, JESUS

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain…

To Him alone will the world, all

Creation, bow and kneel, forever

Worship.

In His heart, a wealth of blessings

He’s ever willing to save… Receive

God’s mercy, peace, freedom

From bondage, earthly chains.

No more wandering, wondering

The weary will come…with

Angels we’ll give Him glory

And praise, for only He is

Worthy.

“Worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness; tremble before him, all the earth!” Psalm 96:9, ESV

“Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name above all names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Phil 2:9-11, Berean Study Bible

“For the Scriptures say, “‘As surely as I live,’ says the LORD, ‘every knee will bend to me, and every tongue will declare allegiance to God.’” Romans 14:11, New Living Translation

“Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness.” Psalm 29:2, ESV

“Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels and living creatures and elders encircling the throne, and their number was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands. In a loud voice they said: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing!” And I heard every creature in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be praise and honor and glory and power forever and ever!” Rev 5:11-13, Berean Study Bible

“All things have been entrusted to Me by My Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son, and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him. Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:27-29, Berean Study Bible

Sapphire Autumn (NaPoWriMo)

http://www.napowrimo.net/day-twenty-five-5/

Write a poem that:  Is specific to a season; Uses imagery that relates to all five senses (sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell); Includes a rhetorical question…

Autumn, sapphires weaved through hair

Nip of dark frost sparks eyes, beware…

Copper shoulders caped in flame-tanged fragrance…

Full sunset season, does the lady wear.

What pales sunned countenance with sorrow

While ‘mid rustled leaves feet, slippered, dance?

Her lips taste salt, singing tear-inked hesitance…

Will true heart’s longing meet her on chill morrow?
