Grief’s Storm

What do you See? April 2, 2019

Grief startles, rips through

Soul as lightning rends midnight

Strikes match to tinder

Searing deep marrow

Loss is thunder echoing

Heart shudders, weeps ash…

Oblivious world turns, turns

  1. Spectacular poem for the prompt, Ennle.
I love how you ended with this last line:
    Oblivious world turns, turns.
This reminds me how alone we can be in our pain,
    though others sympathize and comfort,
even those who have experienced similar life events,
we are always alone with own pain.
