Dear Vincent (NaPoWriMo)

http://www.napowrimo.net/day-twenty-two-5/

There have been few days of NaPoWriMo that I’ve been able to somewhat satisfy the optional prompt, however today offers fulfillment (hope readers agree) 🙂

Dear Vincent, kindred

Soul to me, heart’s brother far

How I long to meet

Clasp hands that brushed starry night

Filled canvases iris-full

~*~

I would have fed you

From small kitchen’s steaming pots

Breads, delicious baked

Listened as you spoke of God

Your desire to preach denied

~*~

Happy days unshared

They wait, pastel Tomorrows

Soon I’ll join you, Home

    • Thank you so much. After reading a number of books about Vincent, I truly felt we were kindred souls. I guess God meant for him to be a painter…since his church thought him too “weird” to accept him into the ministry. Sad.
