If God Is Dead…

Had to share this beautiful song…my heart echoes Loretta’s words:ย  “If God is dead, who’s this living in my soul?”

Blessings to all, this Resurrection Day ~ โ™ฅEnnle

(If God is dead who’s this living in my soul)

He put flowers on the hills your cup he gladly fills
How can you turn around and say God is dead
But when your stories have all been told there’s one thing I’d like to know
If God is dead who’s this living in my soul

He gives us shelter from life’s stormy weather gives us love to keep us together
Oh when life gets like a ship on a raging sea
And when the stage of life grows cold somebody helps us to play our role
If God is dead who’s this living in my soul

If my soul had windows I’d leave them open so the world could see
Those ugly scars upon the hands that bled for you and me
There’s the bridge you can cross if you will the toll was paid on Golgotha’s hill
If God is dead who’s this living in my soul
If God is dead who’s this living in my soul

Wayward Wind

I have no real clue why I’m compelled to post this song, and lyrics…but I’m gonna “blame” Teresa, at The Haunted Wordsmith, because she’s convenient๐Ÿ™‚ย  She has a fairly new challenge going on, related to the elements…and she’s begun with “air”.ย  I’m enjoying it.ย

Now I need to tell you I’ve had no sleep for well over 24 hrs, so maybe that has influenced my offering.ย  Rather than go to bed after I’d done some dawn grocery shopping, I sat down at the blog like I’m in a trance…and out of the blue, the first lines to this song I hadn’t heard in forever started playing in my head!ย  I’m like, “what the heck??”ย  So I hopped over to Google and YouTube—and just had to share it.ย  It’s a wonderful ballad, and Miss Grant has a lovely voice.

So there ya go…this crazy (musical) moment, related to “air”, has been brought to you by “the mad poet of April”, yours trulyโ™ฅ ย  And if you’re unfamiliar with Teresa’s seriously busy and creative blog, click her link above.ย  I guess you could say this is my version of a “shout out”, Teresa!๐Ÿ™‚

The Wayward Wind
The wayward wind is a restless wind
A restless wind that yearns to wander
And he was born the next of kin
The next of kin to the wayward wind
In a lonely shack by a railroad track
He spent his younger days
And I guess the sound of the outward-bound
Made him a slave to his wand’rin ways
And the wayward wind is a restless wind
A restless wind that yearns to wander
And he was born the next of kin
The next of kin to the wayward wind
Oh I met him there in a border town
He vowed we’d never part
Though he tried his best to settle down
I’m now alone with a broken heart
And the wayward wind is a restless wind
A restless wind that yearns to wander
And he was born the next of kin
The next of kin to the wayward wind
The next of kin to the wayward wind

Laugh

https://wordofthedaychallenge.wordpress.com/2019/03/18/laugh/

“Laugh” song lyrics by the Monkees follow poem ๐Ÿ™‚

Spare needless tears…

Laugh

At human foibles, disappointments

Laugh

When you’d rather dissolve, disappear…

Tomorrow—burdens, clouds will lighten, life will amuse…Laugh!

Lyrics excerpt: “Laugh”, by the Monkees

Ev’ry face that I see is all wrapped up in frowns,
And unfortunately, it kind of gets me down.
Laugh,
‘Cause the music is funny
Yeah, the bass sounds off-beat.
Ain’t that neat.
Laugh,
When you lose all your money,
Or you can’t find your shoes
To cover your feet.
It’s not so hard to see exactly what I’m after.
Sometimes a tear should fall, but I require giggles and chuckles
Laugh,
When you’re keepin’ a secret
And it seems to be known
By the rest of the world…

Goes to Show, You Never Can Tell

https://mindlovemiserysmenagerie.wordpress.com/2019/03/10/sunday-writing-prompt-its-all-in-the-title-2/

Six months from the first day we met

The girl with the cast iron smile

Who’d been the other side of nothing

With invisible roommates

Was suddenly in love…

As though light interrupted

Delia became slender half of

Mr and Mrs Deadtree.

My hollow entreaty…that she

Reconsider wisdom of this…

Met with response as if

To a distant hum.

And now we’re celebrating mutual

Success…I’ve published her NY Times

Best seller, Dark Days: Biography of

A Self-Professed Cynic.
