Spouse would take

Astronaut’s giant leap

Adventure, no crowds

I say he’ll go alone

To float mid nothing

Without wedded partner

He ponders awhile

Revisits topic

I try not to roll eyes, You

Might get stuck up there

No return, home sweet

Home, love’s warm bed

Fame’s price, he kids, hugs me.

No Connection

Twittering Tales #132 – 16 April 2019

The dream recurred

Over and over, in which

I tried to call my mom but

Could never get through;

Problems with the line or

I had the number wrong;

She didn’t answer or

Couldn’t hear me.

Decades later I realized

The dream was telling me

She and I would never

Connect…it wasn’t

About the phone.

Dreams On Pyre

Twittering Tales #131 – 9 April 2019

Though it was raining

The evening I left, the

Plane looked to be in

Flames…I died tortured

Death of heart in

Shattered shards

Dreams laid out on pyre.

Not even a mile from

Beach, I should have walked

Into the waves slow deep…

No one would have noticed

Till steam rose like lava, below.

Not Interested

Twittering Tales #130 – 2 April 2019

Why weren’t you interested

To know ME?

Don’t say I’m selfish; you all

Looked at me, saw what you

Wanted-needed-expected of me.

Servant-scapegoat, 2nd-paycheck

Possession to serve ego-centered

Pleasures often perverse.

I don’t miss you, finally have

A life in my world.  Fantasy?

Oh BETTER.

The Birds Knew…

Twittering Tales #129 – 26 March 2019

It was always the birds

From first glimpse

Outside his window.

He despised the city

But for birds’ flutter

Winged song his

Preferred company

Conversation

Society he related to

Familiar with cages.

Uncomfortable amid

Human babbling ~

Made no sense to him

But the birds knew

His spirit, language.

Late Train Nerves

Twittering Tale #127 – 12 March 2019

She was due in on the 7:10…

8pm, dark, weren’t trains precise?

He’d rehearsed what he was going

To say a dozen times, smoked

A pack of Marlboro’s

Throat raw as his nerves

Heartbeat jumping…

What if she’d changed her mind

Wasn’t coming home?

Train was pulling in…

For better or worse.

This Is Our Place

Twittering Tales #126 – 5 March 2019

~♥~

Bored with burgers, pizza

Hungry for something new

Exciting…we drove around

Exploring, found old part of

Town, a little scary but we

Were young-in-love-adventurers

And there it was, crazy sign

Lured us into best un-celebrated

Restaurant for international cuisine

This is our place now!
