Lady Twilight

Sheer gossamer haze

Dressed for twilight dinner

Lavender boa, clouds amid blue…

Sky’s radiance subtle, honored Lady makes eagerly awaited entrance.

The Lavender Merchant

Today’s prompt: merchant, danger, lavender

Merchant of lavender, marvelous…

He smelled herb-sweet, summery

Of old-fashioned romance, maybe

And rainy day freshened poetry.

He sold me purple bunches tied…

Oil, sachet packets…tufts, a ton…

Heart soaps, and star-shaped candles…

Calm fragrance, thoughts to waft upon.

Oh unforeseen danger, falling in love…

Warm violet mist of embrace at dawn.

He wooed all the ladies with herbal fare

Left them weeping woeful lavender tears.

But wise, I’d purchased sea-kelp shampoo…

Washed him fully forever out of my hair.

Waters of Grace (#writephoto)

Thursday photo prompt: Tranquil #writephoto

Sue Vincent’s photo

Carry me to violet place where

Lavender mist lifts, perfumes air

Barely a ripple imprints thoughts…

Tranquility disperses cares.

Love holy, Spirit, sojourns here

Bids weary restless hearts draw near.

Meet me, shepherds, sinners make haste…

We’ll bathe, be restored in limpid waters of grace.
