Unique (A to Z Challenge-Letter U)

I could have used one of the previous HEART shapes, but most folks celebrate the uniqueness of SNOWFLAKES…We are each UNIQUE, VALUED creations of God

Brilliant, beautiful as snowflakes

We’re UNIQUE creations of God.

No cookie cutter children for Him

He formed, fashioned each of us

As originals with Designer label…

He sewed every finest detail.

Such time, attention went into

Preparing physical features, and

Mechanics of our brains…how

We process thoughts, information

Emotions of the heart; the secret

Space where spirit’s placed…with

Style, distinct, language He’ll use

To communicate.

He fine-tuned sense of humor; crazy

Little quirks; color of skin, eyes and

Hair; what turns us on, makes us tick

What does/doesn’t work.  The things

Which drive us, scare our pants off…

He knew them in advance; aspirations

Mad frustrations…each fit Divine Plan.

He saw our journey, beginning to end…

Glorious seasons when all goes right

Those that fall apart completely…

God is there for final “goodnight”.

He made us from His heart, love-full…

Never desires we despise our so-called

Imperfections…face, figure, uneven stature

Brief lack of grace, or weight.

God makes no junk, not single mistake…

Doesn’t have second-thoughts and wish

He’d drawn some aspect differently, reshaped

A bit…painted from another palette.

When He looks upon us…even times we

Feel we’ve disappointed self and everyone

Who matters…His countenance glows with

Deep compassion, Good Father’s true delight.

“For You formed my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are Your works, and I know this very well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in secret, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.” Psalm 139:13-15, Berean Study Bible

“Your hands have made and fashioned me…” Psalm 119:73, English Standard Version

Prescient Spirit beckons

Message of good hope

Anxiety that well-being may deliquesce

Pond of Expectations (NaPoWriMo)

The optional NaPoWriMo prompt was for a sad sonnet.  I skipped sonnet, and have combined inspiration from 2 sources for my piece.  “In the pond of expectations” is a line from Anjali’s poem at Positive Side of Coin (click link above to read her beautiful poem, “Expectations”); and Crimson Prose (see her link above) offers the beckoning photo prompt.

Seductive pool, beauty irresistible

The Pond of Expectations…reflecting

Mirror to draw heart in, cast spell.

Oh, beneath its shimmered glassy

Waters waits spirit less benevolent

Which may catch unwary soul, tempt

Need to please repeatedly…requests

Higher, greater, ever more impossible

Till nothing’s left to give…mere dregs

Of clear identity, giver’s luster lost…

Dragged down and under, drowned.

No trace left, no hint of glimmered

Soul passes ‘cross pool’s surface…

Which now turns own face away.

Take caution, Traveler seeking small

 Eventual ‘something’ returned, mere

Keepsakehaving answered every call.

Pond beckons invitingly, entices…depth

Hardly noticed…swift-fierce, simple fall.

Life’s labyrinthine steps

Mysterious tiles luring, leading

Journey…love, laughter, loss, triumphs…

Following voice within—God, Muse, Teacher—onward to Destiny.

The Birds Knew…

Twittering Tales #129 – 26 March 2019

It was always the birds

From first glimpse

Outside his window.

He despised the city

But for birds’ flutter

Winged song his

Preferred company

Society he related to

Familiar with cages.

Uncomfortable amid

Human babbling ~

Made no sense to him

But the birds knew

His spirit, language.
